Since very little Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Leadership have been my passion. When I was 7 year old I remember looking at marketing advertisements in the streets and television and criticizing and thinking what could they do to make it better. Also 2 years after I created a business plan, which I still have, that I made with my cousin to make a salmon hatchery and a fish restaurant in Cusco. Following my passion for Entrepreneurship last year I created a tank top company (which I’m still working on) where I learned the basics on entrepreneurship and marketing but that wasn't enough. I realized that knowing the basics on my passion was brushing the surface. So I want to go the next years to a course to develop my passion to its highest potential to grow as a professional.
Yes, I like to study. But more than studying, I believe that knowledge and learning is something that you experience, that you seek, that you are passionate about. Ever since I joined Innovation Academy In grade 10, which is a program that only accepts 15 people, I discovered that my knowledge of learning was different. Innovation Academy is a program at my school that merges English, Humanities, Art and Design into a Interdisciplinary Project, that allows you to be autonomous and learn to learn. It is meant to find and pursue your passion in the best way possible. Surprisingly, the grit that we put in these projects is so much helpful than any other type of learning. In the other hand, we also take Math, Science, Physical Education and Spanish which require strict studying and different type of skills which are also useful. This last year I found out that I love learning, especially the kind of way that stays with your forever. I dislike that most schools only focus on memorizing things, more than really engaging students to find their passion for learning. Therefore, students end up following one path that is a path that they didn't choose. During last summer vacations I read "free to learn" and wrote two blog posts about learning and what I disliked about schools.
Entrepreneurship, marketing and business are my passions and I believe that passion would lead me to my future job. I want to create a successful company in Lima, Peru after completing my career at a university in U.S. So by staying at I.A and going to summer programs I want to start going deeper in my passions to fully achieve my future goals.
